Combating the grime and dirt in our homes is essential to having a clean and germ free environment. But many of us spend excess money on commercialized cleaning products that have a lot of chemicals and additives that really do nothing for your home and the surfaces you clean. The best way to get your home spic and span, is to try out several mix-it-yourself home cleaners that not only allow you to spend less money but also give grace to your conscious knowing that they are environmentally friendly.
So the three major ones that you may want to know about, since they are used in and outside the house the most often are: Glass Cleaner, Weed Killers and All Purpose Cleaners for your kitchen and bathroom. Please note that these are recipes and tips to help you, and it may require you to try out a few different mix-it-yourself recipes in order to find the right one for your household.

For the all purpose cleaner, both usable on kitchen and bathroom surfaces, you will need: 1 teaspoon of borax (labeled generically as “laundry booster” or some such. Look for it near the laundry detergent, bleach, fabric softener, and things like that.), ½ teaspoon of washing soda or bi-carb soda(McKenzie’s is the brand we use ), 1 teaspoon of liquid castile soap or eucalyptus oil, and 2-4 drops of any essential oil for a clean smell. You can use orange, lavender, or even lemon depending on where you will be using your cleaner the most. This cleaner is usable on all bathroom and kitchen surfaces, and even children’s toys.
Please keep in mind these are only some of the various methods that you can use to create your own all natural cleaners for your home. Finding one that suits you the best will take a little bit of experimenting based on what smells you want, and how heavy duty you need it. Just remember to label all your bottles, never reuse old cleaner bottles, and keep out of the reach of children.
